happy Spring Equinox

Dear lovely community and creativity seekers,

A slightly belated happy Spring Equinox to you all, and warm welcome to those that joined our online community recently.

As the world outside shifts into deep green and sunlight brings everything into focus, we explore what our seedlings – as well as we, ourselves! – need in order to bloom.

And we will soon share details of our seasonal event: Spring ritual- creative sketchbook practice in end of April. I hope to see you there (even if you don't live in the north hemisphere. A lot of what we teach and touch upon will still be relevant, as will the community connection part)

I would love to know where you are at:

What is showing up into your sketchbooks, creations and ideas?

What do you feel inspired by?

Does your painting tend more to abstract or more figurative?

What ever is your main medium, do you have other mediums of creative expression? Perhaps photography, sewing...?

If you feel like it, share it with us all, through commenting on this post <3

In the meantime, here is how my sketchbook is looking so far. Some different shapes, marks and curiosity in exploring some figurative painting "different from my usual abstracts" appeared recently.

A part of me feels a bit uncomfortable in letting new ideas and marks come and the question that comes is "am I looking to express myself differently?"

What this reminds me is that how we express ourselves might change and that somehow the medium we use doesn't matter, as long as we are connecting to what is present and true to us. The sketchbook is a powerful tool for me to connect to what is in the here and now. In my sketchbook I don't feel constraints and I allow myself to experiment and just observe what comes.

Spring Feelings (it reminds me of Hilma Klint)

Sketches from tulips I got myself.

Abstract Painting, it reminds me of wildflowers:

I can see flowers and green leaves in all of these.

What do you see?

Lots of Love, Bea
